The Memorial Garden at the front of the Flowerdale Community House was created when the house was built at the site in 2011 after the 2009 Black Saturday bush fires.

The garden has 13 rocks placed in it which represent the 13 community members lives that were lost on that day.

On the 10 Year Memorial of this day in 2019 a plaque was placed into the largest rock to educate new residents to and the youth of Flowerdale and to ensure the significance of this space and those lost are never forgotten.
