Who can get this rebate?If you have a personal vehicle registered in your name, you can apply for a rebate between 1 June and 31 July 2026 (depending on eligibility).When can I apply for my rebate?You can apply for a rebate from 1 June 2026, but when you receive it will depend on when you paid your rego for the 2025-2026 financial year.If your registration is due in June, you can still apply but will receive any eligible rebates in July or later.This is to ensure the VicRoads registration and licensing system is up-to-date with your info and payment amount.What types of vehicles are eligible?Right now, rebates are available for personal vehicles under 4.5 tonnes. This includes:carswagons (4WD)station wagonsmotorcyclesutesvanslight trucksCan I apply for a rebate for someone else?No, you need to apply for your rebate using your own Service Victoria account. This is because you can only get up to 2 rebates in your name.Do I need to pay my registration before getting a rebate?If you paid your registration between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026, you'll be eligible to apply for a rebate from 1 June 2026. You can apply for this rebate from 1 June 2026 to 31 July 2026.If your registration is due in June, you can still apply but will receive any eligible rebates in July or later.What if I pay my registration after 30 June?If you paid your registration after 30 June 2026, you won't be able to apply for a rebate as it is for the 2025-2026 financial year only.What do I need to apply for the rebate?We'll ask you for your registration number, full name, Victorian driver licence number or VicRoads client number, and Australian bank account details so we can send you the rebate.How does the application process work?After you apply for your rebate, we'll email you to let you know we got your application. You'll also get an email with the outcome of your application.How many rebates can I get?You can apply for a maximum of 2 rebates in your name.Can I apply if my registration is paid in instalments?Yes, you can still apply if you pay your registration in 3, 6 or 12-month instalments. The rebate will be calculated based on the full annual registration amount.What if I have a work vehicle registered to my business?If your work vehicle is in your name, it's eligible for a rebate. This means sole traders are eligible for a rebate.Vehicles registered to organisations aren't eligible.Do I need a Service Victoria account to apply?Yes, you'll need to sign in or create a Service Victoria account to submit your application securely.What will you do with my information?We need this information to assess your application and contact you for more information if required.We may share your information with VicRoads, the Department of Transport and Planning and other government agencies to check you are eligible for the rebate.We will store this information securely and delete it once your application has been assessed and paid.For more information refer to our privacy notice or contact us. ...
